Two Steam apps. One office loop. The demo is the honest hardware and fantasy test.

Demo vs Full Game

The FD 27: Direct Your Football Club demo is a separate Steam application (app 4743050), not a checkbox on the paid page (app 4529440). That matters. An hour in the demo is an hour in the office loop, and several demo patches were folded into Early Access v0.1. This page is how to use both without treating the demo as a different genre. Pair it with the Early Access review if you are deciding whether to pay, and with system requirements if the calendar crawls.

What the demo is for

The demo exists to answer two questions: do you want to be the owner instead of the coach, and does your machine finish a day. You still hire departments. You still see shirt slots. You still simulate days and run matches at speed. You do not get a secret tactics board in the demo that the full build removes. If you bounce off the missing formation screen here, you will bounce there. Read how to play as owner before you call it broken.

Day processing was rewritten after demo complaints that a single day felt sticky. Keyboard shortcuts, hover-select tables, Play Match instead of a generic Advance, incoming counter-offer screens, facility notifications, dynamic wage floors and lower-division market fixes all had a public life on the demo path. Patch notes lists them. Playing the demo after those posts is closer to v0.1 than a year-old video.

What only the paid v0.1 is

The paid Early Access build is the longer save: the six-division classroom, the three slots you should burn before a star wage, the season that lets February collect the medical bill. The roadmap phases (Europe, academy depth, create-a-club) are not in the demo as finished destinations either. Do not expect 0.2 in either app. Sit in League One or Segunda in the full build if you want the lesson. Club picker.

Price on the full app sat around twelve dollars with a short introductory discount in the first days of Early Access. Treat Steam as the button. Mixed reviews on the paid page are a small sample plus buyers who wanted Football Manager. The demo will not fix that mismatch. It will only show you the mismatch cheaper.

How to spend the demo hour

Do not open the transfer list first. Hire medical. Look at the shirt. Simulate a week. Watch whether minute 75 is a cliff. That is the first season checklist in miniature. If the hour feels like empty menus, you wanted a shout button. If the hour feels like a board pack, buy the full v0.1 and start a teaching chair. Getting Started is the on-ramp after you pay.

This wiki will not invent demo-exclusive leagues or a hidden wonderkid. Confirm both apps on Steam. The links hub has the URLs. If the demo calendar still crawls on your laptop after the speed rewrite, the full office will not become a different machine. If the demo clicks, the full save is the same job with more months for February to arrive.

Play the demo. Then either wait for Europe or sit in the office you already understood. Version 0.1 does not owe you a third option.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for the boardroom questions owners actually search.

Is the demo the same app as the full game?

No. Demo is 4743050. Full Early Access is 4529440. Separate Steam pages.

Did demo patches land in v0.1?

Several did: faster days, Play Match, counter-offers, wage floors, lower-division markets. See patch notes.

Can I continue a demo save in the full game?

Treat them as separate apps. Do not assume a transfer. Check Steam for the current rule if Syra posts one.

Should I skip the demo if I already know I want the office?

You can. The demo is still the cheapest hardware test. Five minutes of calendar is worth it.
